Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 2026. This policy explains what data MQ Plastic collects through mqplastic.com, why we collect it, and the choices available to you.
1. Who we are
MQ Plastic is a B2B distributor of engineering and commodity plastic resins. We connect manufacturers with tier-one resin producers and operate this website to help you browse materials, request quotations, and access technical resources. We do not operate consumer-facing e-commerce; every transaction begins with a formal, reviewed quotation.
2. Data we collect
We collect only the data needed to operate a quote-based B2B service:
- Quote request information. When you submit a quote request or add materials to a quote list, we collect your name, company name, work email address, phone number (optional), shipping destination, and the material specifications you select (resin family, grade, quantity, and any technical requirements).
- Account information. If you create an account, we store your name, email address, company details, and an encrypted password.
- Correspondence. Emails and messages exchanged with our material engineers in the course of a quotation or technical inquiry.
- Usage and analytics data. Anonymous, aggregated usage statistics — pages visited, search queries, device and browser type — collected to understand which materials and resources are useful to you.
We do not collect payment card data through this website. Payment terms are agreed per quotation and settled offline.
3. How we use your data
- To prepare, send, and follow up on quotations you request.
- To match your requirements with suitable resin grades and, where helpful, connect you with a material engineer.
- To operate your account and quote history.
- To send service communications (quote updates, order confirmations, shipping notices). Marketing emails are only sent with your consent and always include an unsubscribe link.
- To improve the catalog, search, and advisory tooling through aggregated analytics.
- To meet legal, tax, and customs obligations.
4. Cookies
We use a small set of cookies and similar technologies:
- Strictly necessary cookies — session management, authentication, and your in-progress quote list. These cannot be disabled.
- Analytics cookies — anonymous usage measurement to improve the site. You may opt out via your browser settings or by contacting us.
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share your data for advertising purposes.
5. Third-party processors
We rely on a short list of processors, each under a data processing agreement:
- HubSpot (CRM) — stores quote and contact records so our engineers can manage your inquiries.
- Resend (email) — delivers transactional and service email on our behalf.
- Sanity (CMS) — hosts the editorial content you see on the site (guides, FAQs, case studies).
- Analytics provider — collects anonymized usage statistics.
Where data leaves the European Economic Area, we ensure appropriate safeguards (standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions) are in place.
6. Data retention
- Quote records: retained for up to 7 years to satisfy commercial, tax, and customs record-keeping requirements.
- Account data: retained while your account is active; deleted within 30 days of a verified deletion request.
- Analytics data: retained in aggregated form only; raw events are purged within 26 months.
7. Your rights
If you are located in the EU/EEA (or the UK), you have the following rights under the GDPR, which we honor for all customers regardless of location:
- Right of access — obtain a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification — correct inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure — request deletion where no legal basis requires retention.
- Right to restriction or objection — limit or object to processing, including direct marketing at any time.
- Right to data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below. We respond to verified requests within 30 days.
8. Security
All traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS). Access to personal data is limited to staff who need it to serve your inquiry, and passwords are stored using modern hashing. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data using industry-standard measures.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our service evolves. Material changes will be announced on this page and, where appropriate, by email. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision.
